Are you tired of big, coercive government?
Would you like to see a victory for
libertarianism?
If you’re thinking “hell yes!” then while
you read this page think about this
question:
“Can one CD crush statism, promote liberty, defeat
socialism AND create a worldwide mass movement for
liberty?”
(It’s an
interesting question, isn’t it? And a big goal for a
simple 30 minute recording. And yet, it’s possible.
So possible and probable, in fact, that I am willing
to
give you a copy of the CD for free. You just pay a
small S&H charge.)
Read on, and learn how you can get this powerful,
paradigm-busting world-changing CD.
If you can honestly answer yes to the following questions,
then you’ve got a good understanding of the
challenges facing liberty, America and the world today:
Are
you tired of:
* mindless and endless foreign interventionism?
* income taxes?
* the endless drug war?
* government schools that don’t teach?
* the trashing of the Constitution?
* what’s left of America being turned into even more
of a police state?
If you answered yes, as you hopefully did, you’ve
come to the right place!
If you’re tired of big, intrusive, coercive
government AND you want to be free, then I have a solution
for you.
My libertarian nom de guerre is “Sean Galt” and
I’ve been a libertarian for more than 23 years. And,
sadly, in those 23 years I have unfortunately seen very few
libertarian victories.
I want that to change, and I want it to change in a BIG
way.
The
beginning of the idea
In 1995 I worked at a radio station in Gainesville, Fla.
While I worked at that station the owner was kind enough to
allow me to interview one of the potential LP candidates
for president.
After the interview I suggested that he (the candidate)
make an outreach CD or tape that we could copy and pass
around to friends and family. At the time he said that he
thought it was a great idea but as far as I know nothing
was ever done about it.
No tape, no CD, no leverage, no mass movement, no nothing.
In 2004 I suggested the same thing to two potential LP
presidential candidates and was _again_ ignored.
For years, this simple yet powerful idea has been ignored
and things have gotten worse. Far, far worse.
And yet, the idea burned within me. In many ways it
consumed me. At libertarian meetings I talked about it and
talked about it until finally, in a fit of desperation, I
decided to take matters into my own hands.
It took me a long time but I did it - I created the audio
CD that I now call “30 minutes to Liberty.”
Why 30 minutes? Well, the truth is, it’s about 30
minutes long. Not too long, and not too short. And
it’s a very basic introduction to libertarianism.
That’s why I call it “30 Minutes to
Liberty.”
This idea has merit. After all, it helped bring down the
Shah and brought Khomenie to power in Iran. Khomenie did
this by making audio tapes, and having his followers copy
and distribute them.
In America Newt Gingrich used a similar plan to ensure a
GOP vicotry.
It is an effective plan, and it works. Too bad that until
now it has used for evil.
Now I want to use the idea to help bring liberty to
America.
That’s why I am offering you “30 Minutes to
Liberty.”
Is
getting “30 Minutes to Liberty” worth
it?
To tell you the truth, the CD is not studio perfect. There
are some minor sound problems. I don’t have a studio
and this is the first CD I ever made.
However, this is the philosophy I used: “You
don’t have to get it right, you just have to get it
going.” The “30 Minutes” message is more
important than any minor problems I encountered on the way.
Better to start than not to start.
Better to get this out to the world than not to.
The libertarian movement has had what? 30, 40, 50 years?
with almost no outreach materials and we have stagnated. I
believe it’s vital to get this message out, and get
it out now.
I hope you do too.
While the CD is not as professional as I would like it to
be, it will do its job.
“30 Minutes” is also a libertarian first: an
easy-to-understand audio introduction to liberty. First and
only one of its kind.
What’s
going to happen if this CD doesn’t get
out?
My fear is that without “30 Minutes to Liberty”
the libertarian movement will continue to stagnate and will
continue to be ignored. If that happens, things will get
worse and America will continue its slide into a police
state.
However, if the “30 Minutes to Liberty” does
get out, and if it is copied and distributed by
libertarians everywhere, then I can see the number of
libertarians vastly increasing.
I also think those new libertarians will be large enough to
make a huge difference.
The
problems libertarians face
Liberty is such a simple idea, and yet we have such a hard
time selling it.
Why? One reason is that most libertarians are readers; most
not-yet-libertarians are not readers. What does that mean?
One thing it means is that they are not going to take the
time to read 100 thick books on liberty, and unfortunately
they probably won’t take the time to read even one.
Once I saw a libertarian candidate wave a 1,000 page book
at a potential voter and say to him “you should read
this book, if you did, you would understand...”.
Sorry, but that approach is just not going to work.
“30 Minutes to Liberty” reaches people that
1,000 page tomes are never going to reach.
A
Major Problem
Most libertarians are not marketers; they have no real
picture of _how_ liberty could triumph.
Over the last few years I have really gotten into
marketing. I guess you could say that it is a new passion
for me.
One insight that I’ve gotten from my study of
marketing is a vision of how libertarians could win. This
is something I never saw anywhere else before.
Yes, we _can_ win!
Libertarians want liberty to win and are tired of liberty
losing. The good news is that liberty doesn’t have to
lose. We can build the roots deep enough so that we can
feast on the fruits.
“30 minutes to Liberty” is my latest (but
certainly not last!) contribution to that effort.
Why
should you get “30 Minutes to
Liberty”?
Get it now because:
• It’s informative and covers a lot of ground
that the average person is not aware of and probably
hasn’t ever heard before.
• It’s nonpartisan. It doesn't focus on the LP
or any other party, or group, except libertarians in a very
broad sense.
• So you will no longer have to argue, prod, convince
or persuade. Just give them the CD and ask them to listen
to it. After they have listened to it _then_ you can talk
to them about liberty.
• It explains liberty in an easy, friendly,
non-emotional, non-confrontational way. It’s a great
way to introduce someone to liberty.
• If they’re willing to take 30 minutes to
listen to the CD, then they just might really be interested
in liberty and they just might be willing to do something
about it. Why not go for the easiest fruit? “30
Minutes to Liberty” makes it simple.
As a matter of fact, in most situations, I won’t even
talk to someone about libertarianism until after they have
listened to the CD. I do this because the CD gives them the
background they need.
** Plus I’m giving it away for FREE! **
(You just pay a small S&H charge)
What’s
on the CD?
• A variety of libertarian quotes.
• A brief explanation of liberty, and how it would
benefit the listener.
• It also covers: the origins of the left-right
spectrum, modern vs. classical liberalism, and the meaning
of coercion.
• Also several ‘why I am a libertarian’
testimonials are included as well.
It’s a tremendous production, maybe not in terms of
studio quality (it’s not studio quality) but in terms
of ideas. If enough people listen to “30 Minutes to
Liberty” its influence will be felt for years.
What
can you do with “30 Minutes to
Liberty”?
Libertarians will already be familiar with the content and
information on the CD. But the idea is that you will give
it away to as many people as possible and get others
interested in liberty. This is a powerful form of leverage;
no longer will we have to wait for the biased media to
cover us. It’s time for us to do this on our own.
Some
other ideas:
• Once you own the CD, you may make as many copies of
it as you would like. We want you to give them away! But
not sell them, of course.
• To break the ice with not-yet-libertarians to get
them interested in liberty.
• Makes a great door prize!
• Give it to teachers, professors, and radio talk-show
hosts.
• Give it to “difficult” family and
friends.
• Give it away at meetings and OPH tables.
“30 Minutes to Liberty” is the first step in
the building of a system that will help find, educate,
recruit and train new libertarians. I am building that
system. Will you help me?
Talking
about educating new libertarians
One of my dreams has been to open a ‘school for
capitalism.’ Some place where people could come learn
about and discuss Bastiat, Rand, Rothbard, Mises, Hayek and
other libertarian writers. A portion of each sale goes to
the opening of this ‘liberty school.’ Someday,
I would like to have several in each state, and perhaps
across the world. For more on the school, please
visit this page.
